Storage management is a vital part of our services. It goes far beyond simply offering storage space. Our depots are places where art can rest where objects remain safely stored until they travel again, are loaned out, or are exhibited anew.
Our depot is specifically designed to store art and valuable objects safely. Think of a CO₂-neutral, fully climate-controlled environment with state-of-the-art security systems. The building is constructed like a bunker no windows, concrete walls, and an airlock at the loading dock. Everything is in place to ensure constant conditions: from temperature and humidity to protection against water or pests.
We offer various storage solutions: from open spaces and painting racks to secured sections. Even bonded warehouse storage is available. Whether your needs are short-term, long-term, or highly specialized we are happy to think along.
Upon arrival, every item is checked and registered. If needed, the work is photographed or accompanied by a condition report. Thanks to our digital barcode system, each artwork is fully traceable from location to dimensions, and from movement to status.
By appointment, clients can also view their works in our dedicated viewing room. Here, our experienced art handlers assist with condition checks, professional advice, or support in packing and relocating artworks.
Kortmann works exclusively with vetted and qualified staff. We are AEO-certified, and our storage facilities comply with Borg Class 4 standards meaning top-level security and processes that meet the most stringent international requirements.
As demand for high-quality storage continues to grow, we are constantly expanding. We recently opened an additional depot location, fully equipped to meet our trusted standards. And soon, we’ll begin construction on a brand-new, sustainable storage wing at our headquarters in Hoofddorp complete with solar panels and green walls. This will not only create additional capacity but also offer new opportunities for specialized storage solutions.
