An artwork that is still in storage in the Netherlands today may become part of an exhibition in Paris, Madrid, Milan or Prague just a few days later. Art is constantly on the move, and so are we.
From Hoofddorp, we organise art transports every day to destinations throughout the Netherlands and abroad. Our trucks travel across Europe, including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Czechia and many destinations beyond. Sometimes for a single artwork, sometimes for an entire exhibition and sometimes as part of an international loan.
But no two transports are the same. The destination is only one part of the journey.
Directly to the destination
When the planning, size or nature of the artworks requires it, we provide dedicated transport. The entire journey is tailored to the specific shipment, from the moment the artwork is loaded until it arrives at its destination.
Our specialised drivers and art handlers are experienced in working with fragile and valuable objects. It is not only the transport itself that requires care and attention. Loading, packing, securing and, ultimately, unpacking and installing the artworks are all part of the process.
International transport adds another layer. Routes need to be carefully planned and, depending on the destination, customs formalities and additional documentation may also be required.
On the road with our Fine Art Shuttle
Not every art transport requires a dedicated journey. That is why Kortmann also offers its Fine Art Shuttle Service.
Our scheduled routes connect Hoofddorp with key art cities and regions across Europe. Shipments can join a planned route, providing an efficient and flexible way to transport artworks, always with the same level of care and attention as a dedicated transport.
This makes our Shuttle Service an attractive option for museums, galleries, art dealers and collectors who regularly need to transport artworks within Europe.
From transport to installation
An international journey does not necessarily end when our truck reaches its destination. Our services can also include unpacking, checking and installing the artwork.
When required, we can take care of the entire process, from the moment an artwork is collected or leaves our storage facility to the moment it is safely in place at its new destination or has become part of an exhibition.
